Fast ambiguity resolution for hydrographic survey and marine applications
Fast ambiguity resolution for hydrographic survey and marine applications
Published in Journal of Faculty of Engineering, Suez Canal University
Accurate GPS real time applications increase continuously. To provide accurate positions using GPS the unknown integer phase ambiguity has to be resolved. In marine applications such as hydrographic survey, the height is commonly well known. In this research, an algorithm for resolving the ambiguity On-The-Fly has been developed taking the advantage of the known ellipsoidal height. The algorithm has been tested using static GPS data and kinematics data acquired from a real hydrographic survey experiments. The results confirmed that using the priori known ellipsoidal height improved the resolution process and leads to fast and reliable resolved ambiguity.
